Micoo is a studio dedicated to custom pet portrait embroidery, founded by a certified inheritor of traditional Chinese embroidery, an intangible cultural heritage craft.

🌿 A Craft Woven Through Time
Chinese embroidery dates back over 2,000 years, with examples found as early as the Warring States Period. Through dynasties like Han, Tang, and Song, embroidery evolved from decorative art to a vehicle of emotion, identity, and spiritual expression.
It adorned imperial robes, home altars, wedding trousseaus, and burial cloths.
But behind each stitch—no matter how grand or modest—was someone’s intent, their care, their story.
Historically, embroidery was one of the few ways women could express personal emotion and narrative. In an era before cameras, it was the hand-made image of love, parting, and loyalty.
That’s why, at Micoo, we believe embroidery can do more than decorate—it can honor the bond between people and their pets, just as it once honored love between people.
🧵 From Intangible Heritage to Everyday Emotion
Our founder was born into a family of embroiderers in Jiangnan. Trained from childhood, she mastered traditional techniques such as Su embroidery, Song-style replication, and layered needlework.
But she always questioned: Should heritage live only behind glass? Or should it live in feeling?
The answer came when she stitched a portrait of her late cat. That cloth, once a practice piece, became something sacred—a remembrance.
She realized then: heritage doesn’t survive through preservation alone. It lives through connection.
And so Micoo was born—to use ancient needlework to preserve modern love.

Each of our pet portraits takes over 30,000 stitches and more than two weeks. We don’t just recreate images—we honor presence, personality, memory.
